My Journey
My name is Peter Francis Morneault, a proud yet humble artist. My wife and I, along with our pets, are "flatlanders" who transplanted to Walden, Vermont in the Fall of 2021. Yes, that's right, in the middle of a global pandemic. Living in what is affectionally known as the Northeast Kingdom has vastly exceeded our goal to escape the hustle-n-bustle of suburban life in southeastern Connecticut.
I purchased my first budget-friendly and entry-level Nikon DSLR "kit" camera in 2019. I now continue to learn, grow, hone my photographic voice, and improve my craft with an array of professional Canon mirrorless cameras and lenses. However, a camera simply can't replicate all the complex variables that the human eye can see and the brain processes. Therefore, I also work with various software to edit and restore "life" to the raw images that a machine (camera) captures.
To me, photography has an ability to create a dialogue between a producer (photographer) and a consumer (you, the audience). Through my artistry, I aim to tell intricate stories of wildlife and the elegance of nature. My work is a testament to the power of the outdoors to inspire, reminding us of the beauty and wisdom that surrounds us in every moment of our daily lives.

My Logo
The story behind it
My logo, featuring two oaks standing in unison, is a reflection of my belief in the quiet strength found within the wild. To me, these trees symbolize the deep wisdom of nature and the resilience required to witness its most intimate moments. It represents my commitment to patience and the grounded perspective I bring to every photograph. When you see this symbol, know it stands for my dedication to honoring the enduring beauty and the silent, powerful stories that the natural world shares with those who take the time to truly look.
My father left this earthly world to become a heavenly guardian angel in late June 2024 at the age of 89 years old. His beloved wife of 67 years, my mother, joined him in early June 2026. Being 90 years old, my mother was still sharp-as-a-tack mentally; it was her physical body that suddenly gave out on her.
Shortly before she died, my mother had one final wish and gift for my wife, Cathy, and me. She wanted us to plant two oak trees, firmly believing that "Vermont has enough maple trees. I want you to plant oak trees - mature ones - that will produce acorns that will feed the critters in your yard. One for me and one for your Dad. Plant them near your memorial pollinator garden."
Sadly, my mother passed away before the trees were planted. However, they steadfastly anchor our yard and provide a spiritual gateway for me to connect with my Mom & Dad daily.
